Wikipedia says the following, under the heading: "Dog whistle (politics)"

In politics, a dog whistle is the use of coded or suggestive language in political messaging to garner support from a particular group without provoking opposition. The concept is named for ultrasonic dog whistles used in shepherding, which are audible to dogs but not humans. Dog whistles use language that appears normal to the majority but communicates specific things to intended audiences. They are generally used to convey messages on issues likely to provoke controversy without attracting negative attention. One example may be the use of the phrase family values in the United States to signal to Christians that a candidate would support policies promoting Christian values without alienating non-Christian supporters.  Another may be the use of the phrase "international bankers" to signal to racists that a candidate is antisemitic without alienating non-racist supporters.

The main problem with this passage is that -- in keeping with Wikipedia's generally Leftist bias -- the examples both target Right-Wingers.  Here are a couple of examples of Feminist dog-whistling:

  1. Take Associate Health Minister Ayesha Verrall's statement, in her maiden speech, that: "We need to continue Labour's work on housing, transport, justice, and violence."  On the face of it, the word "violence" appears normal, but it communicates the concept "violence against women" to the intended audience (i.e. Feminists).  After all, the Feminists have made sure that, in New Zealand, if you google "violence against men,"  the top results are scholarly articles (which few people read), whereas if you google "violence against women,"  the top results are dominated by New Zealand government and international organisation publications.  These organisations have been taken over by Feminists.  Interestingly, Verrall's mother comes from South Asia and the Indian government has apparently done nothing about violence against men.  See: "Domestic violence against men: High time government addressed the problem".

  2. I have written previously about the Feminist judge, Rosemary Riddell, and her autobiography, which is a goldmine of exposed legal system and Feminist stupidity and bias.  See: "A Lying Feminist Judge: Applying the Law AND some "Facts", or Applying the Law TO the Facts?" and "De-Dumbing Up: Rolling Back Feminism and Liberating Men."  On page 69 of her book, she states: "We in New Zealand might think we are removed from the excess of such bastions as Fox News and their ilk."  On the face of it, the word "bastions" appears normal, but it communicates the concept "bastions of Male Chavininism" to the intended audience (i.e. Feminists) -- at least, I assume that it does, because otherwise the word is meaningless in that context.  After all, all that the word "bastion" literally means is "stronghold."  Actually, Fox News has only relatively recently started to realise that men -- as well as women -- also have rights, a fact that Riddell herself is still ignorant of.  See my article: " Vixen TV Shows her Teeth".
